Origin

This rug is made in the northern weaving areas of Afghanistan using the influence of Gabbeh and Ayna. The square pattern is an acknowledgement to the tribal tale and defensive images. Materials

This rug is composed of hand-carded wool which has been naturally dyed, providing its softness and durability. The pattern is particularly deep-textured in that it is hand-spun. Stain protection and an attractive appeal are provided by charcoal colours and heavy contrast, while the reduced shine is given due to the lanolin-rich finish on the wool.

Design

That on charcoal canvas is a patterned network of multi-colored circles.
