Origin
This rug is made in the Chobi weaving areas of Afghanistan. That is the marvel of the use of natural dyes, and only the best motifs are woven into these rugs. Designed under the influence of the classical Persian gardens, the Chobi rugs have been appreciated due totheirs subtle charm and the vibrancy of details. Every object finds inspiration in the pastoral sceneries and the centuries-long artisan experience, paying tribute to the Afghan nomadic heritage.
Materials
This Chobi rug is created out of 100 percent hand-spun Ghazni wool that is dyed using vegetable extracts, and the mixture gives a delicate yet durable substance. To give the weave luster and durability due to lanolin, local wool is used. Patina is realized on the rug over time whereby its colors are heightened and kept together structurally.
Design
The pattern is surrounded by a fancy floral medallion emanating tracery tendrils, rosettes, and pomegranate blossoms in saffron, teal, ruby, and ivory. The field is in graphite grey, and the vines serve as a dramatic contrast; they also relate symmetrical bouquets and mandalas. The balanced composition balances the moving and the complex tone.
Craftsmanship
Despite the knots' density, fineness, and clarity of patterns indicate high-knot, careful hand-knotting. A combination of pattern and symmetry is on the master level of skills, and the sturdy construction of the rug will guarantee its durability. It usually requires months of work to complete a piece, which speaks of patience and skill of the artisan.
Heritage
Chobi rugs started with an idea to reinvent the traditional Persian and Mughal design language into Afghan weaving tradition. They maintain the culture of blending of understandable art, fineness ,and folklore, modern and classical homestones. This rug is more than an ornament; it has a history of earth, of time, of hands who are trained.
A fusion of timeless Afghan artistry and bold modern palettes—this Chobi rug is floral poetry woven into wool.
