Origin
A hundred year old craftsmen throughout the country of Afghanistan work to preserve one of the oldest hand knotting techniques in this traditional Kazak rug. It is based on Caucasian tribal rugs which are filled with symbolic geometry and strong color scheme. Every single one is an individual representation of local history and conventional artisan tradition.
Materials
It is made of 100 per cent fine hand-spun, naturally dyed, handwoven wool, in vegetable-based pigments. The organic fibers give the carpet warmth and comfort on the feet together with helping the rug last longest. Natural dyes introduce rich earthy color, which continues to be rich even after years of utilization and speaks to time.
Design
In the middle there is a medallion which is an octagon in ivory, in the middle of which there are tribal patterns as well as safeguarding images. The setting of the field is presented as slate blue, which contrasts quite well with the red, cream, and navy mix. A border of corner floral emblems and serrated pattern add to the rhythm of the eye and to the ethnic appeal.
Craftsmanship
These knots are perfectly tied by Afghan weavers using their hands. The highly tapestry work provides excellent sturdiness yet keeping the complexity of the designs intact. The textile craftsmanship is of high quality with symmetry of design layout and shininess of motifs, which is a sign of skill of the artisan.
Heritage
The cultural identity of the Central Asia has a meaning of significance in this Kazak rug with its cultural richness embedded in the narrative and its endurance. A concept behind the patterns is tribal identity, nature, and protection. When you purchase this work, you accept the displacement of a handwork heritage spoken over generations and the spirit of the Afghani nomad tradition.
An authentic Afghan Kazak rug, rich in heritage and character, combining tribal symbolism with enduring craftsmanship and bold, organic hues.
