Origin
This beautiful rug is a Kazak made by handweavers in Afghanistan and was made upholding the generations of the Caucasian handicraft. The style is a true expression of traditional tribal art because it reflects the ancestry of the Armenian and Turkoman weavers, which the Afghan crafts currently continue to preserve through indigenous styles and designs.
Materials
This rug is made of fine Ghazni wool, which gives it a soft feel that will make it a long-lasting rug. Its colors are so bold, striking blues, reds, and ivories, down to their use of natural vegetable dyes. The hand-spun wool is dense, textured, and has a vintage feel to it.
Design
At the heart of this work is a bold geometric medallion framed by symbolic rosettes and ornamental patterns on the lively blue ground. The design consists of a starburst and other stylized tribal patterns placed in an ivory frame bordered with the contrasting hues of heritage and color.
Craftsmanship
This 50x50 cm hand-knotted rug is made with a tight weave and neat finish by skilled Afghan artisans. The placement of every knot is precise so that the patterns are clear and the knotted ties can last a long time. Its micro size and minute ornamentation make it a unique accent object for any room.
Heritage
With a specifically historical background in the Caucasus region and having a strong symbolic value, Kazak rugs are incredibly symbolic. This contemporary replication is an accurate descendant of that tradition, including generations of craftmaster wisdom. With this rug, a part of living history is acquired by way of design, materials, and process.
A bold, heritage-rich rug handcrafted with purpose, pattern, and story in every thread.
