Origin
The traditions of weaving in the tribal regions of north Afghanistan have produced this Yusof Bai runner made by artisans who worked following disciplined geometric designs. The motifs used are based on village designs therefore it is neither only decoration but a culture in a fabric.
Materials
The runner is dyed in ancient plant-based and mineral pigments, handwoven using highland Afghan wool, and it is a bright color and an eco-friendly product. And the wool has a natural lanolin content, which makes it stain resistant and so strong with a soft feel, an antique rug that becomes more beautiful with age.
Design
The rug has a vertical design of red floral medallions with green petals outlined against a deep blue background and delineated to give a royal procession. Supported by deep-crimson surrounds, which are smaller medallion repetitions, the plan does accomplish balance and movement, which directs the eye to limited areas.
Craftsmanship
This runner sports a tight 50x50 knot count and continues a tradition of precision weaving. Knots are individually tied such that ancestral competence is embodied in knot tying. The tight finishing, even weave, and straight edges make it have durability in the name of everyday wear and recall in history- created to be trodden upon and to be remembered.
Heritage
Rug Company of Yusof Bai has its name connected strongly to the vision and identity of nomadic tribes, which rely on it as their continuity, welcome, and orientation. This rug is useful as running gear and is also a story that talks of heritage with the use of color and repetition. It is a material sounding board of a society in which artistry is a necessity of utility.
A stately expression of Afghan continuity—this Yusof Bai runner guides both step and story through rich geometry and soul.
