Origin

The rug was woven by talented Mumlook craftsmen in northern Afghanistan, and it inspires Persian and Anatolian traditions. Its symmetrical medallion design strongly implies a great respect for order and tradition. Materials

The rug is hand-woven of 100 percent hand-spun Ghazni wool and uses botanical pigments to have bright, long-lasting colors. Natural lanolin in the wool makes it soft and durable. The rug is completely biodegradable, free of synthetics or any chemicals- an ancient idea of sustainability mixed with new sensibilities.

Design

An enormous central star medallion emanates out of a deep midnight indigo ground with supports in gesture against flanking medallions and fringed with ornate rosette and rosette motifs. The intricate pattern has hexagonal florals and angular latticework and incorporates red, ivory, and sage when every detail is a point of tilting contrast and symmetry in balance to produce a dynamic yet harmonious visual effect.

Craftsmanship

All knots are hand-tied into the traditional looms, resulting in rich pile density and design line sharpness. The rear looks proportionate to the front in a very clear manner, which signifies greater control over tension. The edges and fringes are locked together by reinforcing to give structural integrity and heirloom durability.

Heritage

Mumlook carpets use Persian elegance with Central Asian symbolism. Sacred and spiritual leadership are indicated by medallions, whereas geometric flowering illustrates rejuvenation and energy.
