Origin

Handcrafted in the artisan centres of Northern Afghanistan, this Shaal rug combines tribal weaving styles that have centuries of tradition. Materials

The non-backed, natural plant-dyed wool rug is made out of 100 per cent hand-spun Ghazni wool and is thick and deep in colour. Its deep crimson, blue, and gold colour comes by way of walnut husks, madder roots and leaves of indigo. It is naturally soft and durable, but at the same time sustainable, biodegradable, and free of all synthetic dyes.

Design

The pattern is an ornamentation of a series of vertical stripes of tribal design, each different in motif and colour, bordered by an indigo line of rosette and star pattern.
