Origin

This runner has been hand-woven in Northern Afghanistan, where Sultani weaving traditions have been thriving through generations of weavers. Taking inspiration from the Persian aesthetics, it features the verge-and-vine style, which signifies congruity and flow. Materials

The rug is spun using 100 per cent hand-spun Ghazni wool, which is authentic due to its tough nature and beautiful soft feel. The dye applied is natural pigments like indigo, pomegranate rind and madder root. These dyes make sure that there are fade-resistant colours which are of teal, navy, rust, and Ivory, giving an eco-friendly feel. Its thick wool pile makes it long-lasting and has a patina ageing process.

Design

Medallions in turn arranged in the central field here are framed by layers of turquoise and earthy-hued borders and scrolled around by vines and stylised flowers. It is contrasted by rich navy against teal, rust, and ivory to show fine details.
